Details
At 331 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Custer State Park, or 8 miles southeast of Custer, moving southeast
at 20 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Custer, Pringle, Fairburn, Blue Bell, Wind Cave National Park,
Custer State Park, Mount Coolidge, Buffalo Corrals, Legion Lake,
Stockade Lake, State Game Lodge, Center Lake and Black Hills
Playhouse.
Instructions
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
Very heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm is producing large quantities of hail. Driving through
deep hail is like driving on slushy roads. Slow down and do not brake
suddenly.
