Special Weather Statement issued July 10 at 8:05PM MDT by NWS Goodland KS
Details
At 805 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles north of Towner, or 17 miles northwest of Tribune, moving east
at 35 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern
Cheyenne County in east central Colorado and northwestern Greeley
Counties in west central Kansas.
Instructions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Goodland.
This thunderstorm is producing minor accumulations of hail, which
will make driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must
travel, be aware of rapidly changing road conditions.
