Details
At 725 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms with
heavy rainfall along a line extending from Colesburg through
Manchester to near Alburnett. Movement was east at 40 mph.
HAZARD…Winds in excess of 40 mph and minor flooding.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow
around unsecured objects. Slowing or redirecting of traffic
due to ponding or flowing water. Closure of waterfront
access due to flooding.
Locations impacted include…
Anamosa, Manchester, Marion, Hiawatha, Dyersville, Monticello,
Robins, Center Point, Farley, Central City, Palo, Earlville,
Alburnett, Coggon, Hopkinton, Delhi, New Vienna, Colesburg,
Worthington, and Holy Cross.
This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 27 and 36.
Instructions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
If the heavy rain continues, a flash flood warning may be needed.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for
northeastern and east central Iowa.
