Details

At 1126 PM CDT/1026 PM MDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of
strong thunderstorms 14 miles northwest of Lovington, moving
southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Hobbs, Lovington, Seagraves, Tatum, Monument, Humble City, Maljamar,
McDonald, Nadine, Gladiola, Knowles, Halfway, Lea County Regional
Airport, Industrial Airpark, Oil Center, Paynes Corner, Higginbotham,
and Gaines County Park.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
