Special Weather Statement issued September 17 at 7:39PM MDT by NWS North Platte NE
Details
At 739 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles southwest of Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge, or 20
miles northwest of Oshkosh, moving northeast at 10 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Crescent Lake National Wildlife Refuge, Richardson Lake, Deer Lake,
Mumper, Adams Flats, and Rackett.
Instructions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
