Details

At 531 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles north of Quail, or 14 miles northwest of Wellington, moving
southeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Wellington, Clarendon, Shamrock, Mclean, Howardwick, Hedley, Dodson,
Lutie, Lelia Lake, Lake Mcclellan, Lela, Quail, Samnorwood, Dozier,
Alanreed, and Greenbelt Lake.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 123 and 167.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
the Panhandle of Texas.
