At 613 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Lake Tapawingo, or near Independence, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include…
Kansas City, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Leawood,
Raytown, Grandview, Grain Valley, Greenwood, Sugar Creek, Lake
Lotawana, Lake Winnebago, Lone Jack, Lake Tapawingo, Unity Village,
and Tarsney Lakes.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 70 in Missouri between mile markers 6 and 29.
Interstate 470 between mile markers 0 and 16.
Interstate 435 between mile markers 57 and 75.
Interstate 49 between mile markers 180 and 183.
