Details

At 145 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles north of Wellfleet, or 17 miles south of North Platte, moving
northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Brady, Maxwell, Keith, Jeffrey Canyon State Wildlife Management Area,
and Cottonwood Canyon State Wildlife Management Area.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 187 and 204.
Highway 83 between mile markers 60 and 70.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in North Platte.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for
southwestern Nebraska.
