At 342 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Emporia, moving northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD…Strong wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include…
Emporia, Lebo, Americus, Olpe, Neosho Rapids, Reading, and Admire.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 35 between mile markers 128 and 148.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 120 and 144.
Instructions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
