Details

At 500 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Council Grove Lake, moving southeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD…Strong wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects and
vegetation is possible.

Locations impacted include…
Emporia, Eskridge, Americus, Harveyville, Reading, Allen, Admire,
Bushong, and Dunlap.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 35 between mile markers 128 and 137.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 124 and 154.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Strong winds with this storm will occur before any rain or lightning.
Do not wait for the sound of thunder to go inside.
