Details

At 539 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Split Rock Lighthouse to 6 miles southwest of
Wolf Lake to 6 miles southwest of Whiteface Reservoir to 6 miles
southeast of Meadowlands to near McGregor. A second line from near
Hibbing to near Whyte. The storms were moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated. A 43 mph wind gust was reported at the
Duluth International Airport at 440 PM CDT. Additional wind
gust of more than 35 mph were reported across northern
Minnesota with these storms.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible. Storms should gradually weaken by 8 PM CDT.

Locations impacted include…
Duluth, Superior, Hibbing, Cloquet, Big Sandy Lake, Hermantown,
Virginia, Chisholm, Two Harbors, Eveleth, Proctor, Mountain Iron,
Hoyt Lakes, Silver Bay, Gilbert, Aurora, Babbitt, Keewatin, Buhl, and
Scanlon.
