Details

At 428 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 4 miles southwest of Ithaca to 5 miles west of
Gretna to 2 miles south of Papillion. Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Embedded thunderstorm wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size
hail and frequent lightning

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

* Locations impacted include…
Omaha, Council Bluffs, Bellevue, Papillion, Ralston, Wahoo, Gretna,
Boys Town, Elkhorn, Millard, Offutt AFB, La Vista, Carter Lake,
Yutan, Waterloo, Mead, Ithaca, Aksarben, Zorinsky Lake, and South
Omaha.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 29 between mile markers 48 and 54.
Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 1 and 5.
Interstate 80 in Nebraska between mile markers 435 and 454.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
southwestern Iowa…and east central Nebraska.
