Details
At 510 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 4
miles west of Mescalero Park, or 5 miles northwest of Canyon, moving
southeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include…
Amarillo, Canyon, Lake Tanglewood, Mescalero Park, and Timbercreek
Canyon.
This includes Interstate 27 between mile markers 99 and 118.
Instructions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
