Details

At 601 PM MDT, strong thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall rates
were moving into El Paso from the east and southeast. Outflow from
these storms is getting ready to merge over the city. Expect an
increase in heavy rainfall coverage in the next 15 to 30 minutes.
Flood Advisories and Warnings will be issued as needed.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
El Paso, Sunland Park, Santa Teresa, Chaparral, and the lower
Mesilla Valley communities.

Instructions

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
