Details

At 424 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Cesar Chavez, or over Edinburg, moving northwest at 10 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Edinburg, Weslaco, Alamo, Donna, Elsa, Edcouch, La Villa, North
McAllen, Faysville, and Edinburg Regional Medical Center.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate Highway 69 C between mile markers 1 and 12.
US Highway 281 between mile markers 760 and 764.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
