* Tornado Warning for…
Northeastern Wyandotte County in northeastern Kansas…
Southern Clay County in west central Missouri…
Southeastern Platte County in west central Missouri…
Northern Jackson County in west central Missouri…

* Until 900 PM CDT.

* At 833 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Gladstone, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…Tornado.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include…
Kansas City, Independence, Liberty, Gladstone, North Kansas City,
Sugar Creek, Riverside, Claycomo, Courtney, Pleasant Valley, Lake
Waukomis, Glenaire, Avondale, Platte Woods, Oakview, Sibley,
Northmoor, Missouri City, Houston Lake, and River Bend.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 35 in Missouri between mile markers 6 and 20.
Interstate 29 between mile markers 0 and 6.
Interstate 635 between mile markers 9 and 12.
Interstate 435 between mile markers 45 and 58.

Instructions

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Pleasant Hill.
