The National Weather Service in Dodge City has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Comanche County in south central Kansas…
East central Clark County in southwestern Kansas…

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 609 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Sitka to near Buttermilk, moving northeast at
40 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE…Automated weather station. At 6PM CDT, a Kansas Mesonet
station reported a 64 mph wind gust 8 miles south of
Ashland.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
