…The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Iowa…
East Nishnabotna River At Red Oak affecting Montgomery County.
* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…East Nishnabotna River at Red Oak.
* WHEN…Until late Wednesday night.
* IMPACTS…At 20.0 feet, Lowland flooding begins along the west
bank.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 4:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 17.6 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
this afternoon to a crest of 19.7 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage by late tomorrow
morning.
– Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 19.6
feet on 06/15/1980.

Instructions
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
