…The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Iowa…

Turkey River at Spillville affecting Winneshiek County.

Turkey River at Garber affecting Clayton County.

…Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Major severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Iowa…

Turkey River at Elkader affecting Clayton County.

* WHAT…Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Turkey River at Garber.

* WHEN…From this afternoon to late Monday night.

* IMPACTS…At 26.0 feet, The earthen levee at Elkport is threatened,
just upstream of Garber.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 7:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.4 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
this afternoon to a crest of 26.0 feet tomorrow morning. It will
then fall below flood stage early Monday afternoon.
– Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 25.6
feet on 09/23/2016.

Instructions

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
