The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Shawnee County in east central Kansas…
Southern Jackson County in northeastern Kansas…

* Until 800 PM CDT.

* At 717 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Emmett to near Keene, moving northeast at 50
mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Public. At 707 PM CDT, a mesonet station measured a 78
MPH wind gust on I-70 in Wabaunsee County.

IMPACT…Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include…
Topeka, Rossville, Dover, Silver Lake, Hoyt, Mayetta, Denison,
Delia, Willard, Potawatomi Reservation, and Pauline.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 70 between mile markers 346 and 355.
Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 173 and 183.
