Details

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE…All of south-central and southwestern New Mexico, as well
as El Paso and western Hudspeth Counties in Texas. The area of
greatest concern will be near and east of the Continental Divide to
the Tularosa Basin and Sacramento Mountains.

* WHEN…Through Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and
rivers are possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– An early season back door cold front will interact with a late
season plume of deep tropical moisture, bringing several rounds
of thunderstorms with torrential downpours to the region this
afternoon through Wednesday evening. Repeated thunderstorms may
tend to focus in one or two areas, resulting in higher end
precipitation totals. The most critical period with the heaviest
rain potential will likely be tonight into Wednesday morning.
