…The National Weather Service in Wichita KS has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Kansas…

Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock affecting Kingman County.

Ninnescah River near Peck affecting Sumner and Sedgwick Counties.

Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine affecting Sumner County.

Arkansas River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock.

* WHEN…From this afternoon to Tuesday evening.

* IMPACTS…At 9.0 feet, Minor overflow occurs along both banks.
However, on the south side of the banks near the river bridge on
SE 160th Avenue, flooding spreads out into pastureland to the
extent of 1000ft.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 3:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 3.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
this afternoon to a crest of 9.5 feet this evening. It will
then fall below flood stage Tuesday morning.
– Flood stage is 8.0 feet.

Instructions

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don’t
drown.
