* WHAT…Temperatures up to 106 expected.

* WHERE…In New Mexico, Northern Dona Ana County, Southern Dona Ana
County/Mesilla Valley, and Southwest Desert/Mimbres Basin. In
Texas, Eastern/Central El Paso County, Rio Grande Valley of
Eastern El Paso/Western Hudspeth Counties, Rio Grande Valley of
Eastern Hudspeth County, and Western El Paso County.

* WHEN…From noon to 9 PM MDT Monday.

* IMPACTS…Hot temperatures may cause heat illnesses, especially
during extended periods of time outdoors.

Instructions

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
