* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE…A portion of Deep South Texas, including the following
counties, Brooks, Jim Hogg and Zapata.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of arroyos and

arroyos may rise out of their banks near where heaviest rains fall.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Storm drains
and ditches may become clogged with debris. Highest concern
includes locations in Zapata, such as Medina Addition, as well as
more populated areas of Hebbronville and Falfurrias, including
along state highways 16, 359, and 285.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– Potential for heavy rainfall, including two windows where
rainfall rates could reach 2 inches per hour for two hours both
late tonight and early Sunday morning, and again Sunday night
through mid morning Monday.
– Concern is highest across populated areas, including the cities
of Zapata, Hebbronville, and Falfurrias. Flood prone areas along
or near arroyos in Jim Hogg and Zapata are at most risk, but high
water could also flood open rangeland.
