* WHAT…Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 108
possible in southwest Iowa and the Omaha metro.
* WHERE…In Iowa, Fremont, Mills, Montgomery, Page, and
Pottawattamie Counties. In Nebraska, Douglas and Sarpy Counties.
* WHEN…From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS…Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat and high humidity events.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Heat indices overnight fall only into the
mid-70s preventing uncooled homes from dispersing the day’s heat.
The dangerous heat may linger well past Tuesday through much of the
work week.
Instructions
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
