The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a

* Tornado Warning for…
South central Hooker County in west central Nebraska…
Northwestern McPherson County in west central Nebraska…

* Until midnight CDT/1100 PM MDT/.

* At 1123 PM CDT/1023 PM MDT/, a severe thunderstorm capable of
producing a tornado was located 7 miles southeast of Swan Lake, or
18 miles east of Arthur, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD…Tornado.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
south central Hooker and northwestern McPherson Counties, including
the following locations… Sand Beach Lake, Big Lamunyon Flats, and
East Cody Lake.

This includes Highway 97 near mile marker 40.

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
