Southeastern Maries County in central Missouri…
Northern Phelps County in east central Missouri…
* Until 745 AM CDT.
* At 146 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1
hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE…Radar.
IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Rolla, St. James, Doolittle, Newburg, Northwye, Vichy and Rosati.
This includes the following low water crossings…
Wolf Creek at Highway CC, Montague Creek at County Road 510, Mill
Creek at County Road 521 and Montogue Creek at Highway E.
Instructions
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
