The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Eastern Bandera County in south central Texas…
Kendall County in south central Texas…

* Until 115 PM CDT.

* At 822 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Medina, Boerne, Comfort, Bandera, Fair Oaks Ranch, Nelson City,
Welfare, Waring, Walnut Grove, Kronkosky State Natural Area,
Sisterdale, Kreutzberg, Pipe Creek, Old Tunnel State Park,
Bankersmith, Bandera Falls, Bergheim, Lakehills, Kendalia and
Guadalupe River State Park.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
