The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southeastern Dona Ana County in south central New Mexico…
Northwestern El Paso County in western Texas…

* Until 930 PM MDT.

* At 804 PM MDT, Thunderstorms with torrential rainfall are moving
into the lower Mesilla Valley and Northwest El Paso. Rainfall
rates are exceeding 3 inches per hour at times. Nearly 1.5 inches
of rain has fallen near La Union and Chamberino.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE…Radar.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of arroyos, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Chamberino, Northwest El Paso, Anthony, Santa Teresa, Canutillo,
La Union, Vinton, Westway, Chamberino, Union Pacific Intermodal
Terminal.

Flooding will likely impact arroyos draining the mesa west of
Chamberino, Anthony, and La Union. Urban flooding is likely to
develop in Canutillo and Northwest El Paso.

Instructions

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
