* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Poweshiek County in central Iowa…
Southeastern Marshall County in central Iowa…
Tama County in central Iowa…
Eastern Jasper County in central Iowa…

* Until 545 PM CDT.

* At 445 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Toledo
Municipal Airport, or over Toledo, moving southeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Grinnell, Toledo, Montezuma, Tama, Brooklyn, Dysart, Meskwaki
Casino, Rock Creek Lake, Le Grand, Victor, Sully, Garwin, Gilman,
Holiday Lake, Lynnville, Malcom, Chelsea, Montour, Clutier, and
Elberon.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 176 and 204.

Instructions

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central Iowa.
