The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a
* Dust Advisory for…
El Paso County in western Texas…
* Until 815 PM MDT.
* At 727 PM MDT, a wall of dust was pushing across El Paso, moving
east at 30 mph.
HAZARD…Less than two miles visibility with strong wind in excess
of 40 mph.
SOURCE…Doppler radar.
IMPACT…Hazardous travel.
Locations impacted include…
Far East El Paso, Mission Valley, Tornillo, Clint, Horizon City,
Fabens, Hueco Tanks, San Elizario, Indian Cliffs Ranch, Socorro,
Sparks, Homestead Meadows, Lake Way Estates, and Montana Vista.
The wind and dust will slowly weaken as they approach far east El
Paso County and the Hueco Mountains.
Instructions
Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving
conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in
dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep
your foot off the brake.
