The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southern Grundy County in central Iowa…
North Central Marshall County in central Iowa…
Northwestern Tama County in central Iowa…
Southwestern Black Hawk County in northeastern Iowa…

* Until 100 AM CDT Friday.

* At 658 PM CDT, Emergency management reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain across the warned area, with several small
creeks out of their banks. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Emergency management reported.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Grundy Center, Hudson, Reinbeck, Conrad,
Holland, Beaman, Lincoln and Morrison.

Instructions

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
