The National Weather Service in San Angelo has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Northwestern Brown County in west central Texas…
Southeastern Callahan County in west central Texas…
Northeastern Coleman County in west central Texas…

* Until 245 AM CDT.

* At 1246 AM CDT, Doppler radar numerous thunderstorms with very
heavy rain moving north across northeastern Coleman County and the
northern half of Brown County. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches
have already occurred, and an additional 1 to 2 inches is expected.
With this heavy rainfall in a short period of time, flash flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
low-lying areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Bangs, Cross Plains, Burkett, Cross Cut, Grosvenor, Byrds, Lake
Brownwood Near Thrifty, Lake Brownwood, May, Rowden, Echo and
Thrifty.

This includes the following Low Water Crossings…
FM 2273 crossing Rough Branch, County Road 172 crossing Little Pecan
Bayou and County Road 441 crossing Bledsoe Branch.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
