* Flash Flood Warning for…
Northwestern Geary County in east central Kansas…
Northwestern Jackson County in northeastern Kansas…
Southeastern Nemaha County in northeastern Kansas…
Pottawatomie County in northeastern Kansas…
Southern Riley County in northeastern Kansas…

* Until 500 PM CDT.

* At 1253 PM CDT, emergency management reported flash flooding from
showerse and thunderstorms in the warned area. Between 0.5 and 2.5
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1
inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly. Highway 24 at Excel Road in Pottawatomie
County was flooded.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE…Emergency management reported.

IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include…
Manhattan, Junction City, Wamego, Westmoreland, Ogden, Onaga, St.
George, Milford, Louisville, Circleville, Corning, Soldier,
Havensville, Wheaton, Tuttle Creek Lake, Keats and Milford Lake.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
