…The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Minnesota…
South Branch Root River at Lanesboro affecting Fillmore and Houston
Counties.
* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…South Branch Root River at Lanesboro.
* WHEN…Until Sunday evening.
* IMPACTS…At 14.0 feet, The river may begin to threaten “The Flat”
area at this level and the ballfield will begin to experience some
flooding.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 10.2 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
afternoon to a crest of 15.2 feet this evening. It will then fall
below flood stage just after midnight tonight.
– Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.2
feet on 06/09/2008.

Instructions
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.
