…The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Minnesota…

Root River Near Houston affecting Houston County.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Root River near Houston.

* WHEN…From this afternoon to Monday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 15.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding occurs.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 9:45 AM CDT Friday the stage was 14.0 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage late
this afternoon to a crest of 16.2 feet early tomorrow afternoon.
It will then fall below flood stage Sunday evening.
– Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 16.2
feet on 03/15/2007.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
