Details
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected to
continue.
* WHERE…A portion of south central Kansas, including the following
county, Reno.
* WHEN…Until 800 AM CDT Saturday.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
remain closed due to flooding.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 307 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported ongoing
flooding in the warned area due to heavy rain from
thunderstorms from Thursday night. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches
of rain fell Thursday night.
– Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Hutchinson, South Hutchinson, Buhler, Haven, Nickerson,
Pretty Prairie, Arlington, Turon, Partridge, Sylvia, Plevna,
Abbyville, Yoder, Willowbrook, Langdon, Hutchinson Airport,
Cheney Lake and Cheney State Park.
Instructions
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don’t
drown.
