Warning for the following rivers in Nebraska…

Big Blue River Near Seward affecting Seward County.

…Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Nebraska…

Big Blue River At Beatrice affecting Gage County.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Big Blue River near Seward.

* WHEN…From this morning to Friday morning.

* IMPACTS…At 18.0 feet, Lowland flooding begins, including the Blue
Valley Campground in Seward.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1:45 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 13.9 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 18.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
morning to a crest of 18.6 feet this morning. It will then fall
below flood stage late this afternoon.
– Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.5
feet on 06/16/1984.

Instructions

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
