Details

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…A portion of south central Kansas, including the following
county, Sumner.

* WHEN…Until 100 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 801 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain
in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already
occurring. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Wellington, Mayfield and Milan.

Instructions

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don’t
drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
