* WHAT…Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
ongoing on Coon Creek in Coon Valley.
* WHERE…Northwestern Vernon County in southwestern Wisconsin…
* WHEN…Until 815 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS…Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. It will take
several hours for all the water from these storms to work through
local drainage systems in urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 314 PM CDT, emergency management reported water over the
roadway at Highway 14 and Highway 162 south. Flooding is already
occurring. Between 3 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Coon Valley and Chaseburg.

Instructions
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
