* Until 430 PM CDT.

* At 322 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Meservey, or
15 miles northwest of Hampton, moving southeast at 60 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include…
Webster City, Iowa Falls, Hampton, Clarion, Belmond, Parkersburg,
Ackley, Jewell Junction, Sheffield, Aplington, Elm Lake, Big Wall
Lake, Alden, Kanawha, Dumont, Radcliffe, Dows, Ellsworth, New
Hartford, and Latimer.

This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 131 and 187.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central,
north central and northeastern Iowa.
