The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southeastern Sedgwick County in south central Kansas…
Southwestern Butler County in south central Kansas…

* Until 215 AM CDT.

* At 120 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Eastborough,
or near Wichita, moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Augusta, Park City, Bel Aire,
Mulvane, Rose Hill, Douglass, Leon, Downtown Wichita, Kechi,
Eastborough, East Wichita, Eisenhower National Airport, Northeast
Wichita, Mcconnell Air Force Base, South Wichita, and Santa Fe
Lake.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 0 and 14.
Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 38 and 63.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
