The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southeastern Sedgwick County in south central Kansas…
Southwestern Butler County in south central Kansas…

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 114 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Derby, moving
northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Derby, Andover, Mulvane, Rose Hill, Douglass, Santa Fe Lake, and
Augusta Municipal Airport.

This includes Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 34 and 37, and
between Mile Markers 55 and 58.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are
occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
