* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Southeastern Clark County in northeastern South Dakota…
Southeastern Codington County in northeastern South Dakota…
Deuel County in northeastern South Dakota…
Hamlin County in northeastern South Dakota…

* Until 715 PM CDT.

* At 609 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
over Thomas to near Lake Poinsett, or along a line from 5 miles
southeast of Goose Lake to near Lake Poinsett, moving east at 45
mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. There will be two
waves of winds, with the first on the leading edge of the
storm, then a second area on the back side of the storm.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.

Instructions

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.

Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
