The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Harding County in northwestern South Dakota…

* Until 700 PM MDT.

* At 608 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near North Cave
Hills, or 14 miles north of Buffalo, moving northeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD…Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include…
Buffalo, Ludlow, Reva, Ralph, Camp Crook, Ladner, South Cave Hills,
Lake Gardner, North Cave Hills, Table Mountain, northwestern Slim
Buttes and West Short Pines.

Instructions

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and dangerous hail.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT Saturday for a
portion of northwest South Dakota.
