The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Jasper County in southwestern Missouri…

* Until midnight CDT.

* At 1115 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Mulberry to near Galena to 9 miles west of Anderson,
moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include…
Joplin, Carthage, Webb City, Carl Junction, Galena, Oronogo,
Carterville, Duquesne, Sarcoxie, Duenweg, Jasper, Airport Drive,
Alba, Purcell, Carytown, Fidelity, Asbury, Neck City, Avilla, and
La Russell.

This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 8 and 32.

Instructions

This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread
wind damage across southeast Kansas and southwest Missouri. SEEK
SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows!
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
