* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for…
Eastern Sedgwick County in south central Kansas…

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 1259 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Eisenhower
National Airport, or near Haysville, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include…
Wichita, Derby, Andover, Haysville, Park City, Valley Center, Bel
Aire, Maize, Downtown Wichita, Kechi, Eastborough, West Wichita,
East Wichita, Eisenhower National Airport, Northeast Wichita,
Mcconnell Air Force Base, South Wichita, Oaklawn, and Jabara
Airport.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 135 between Mile Markers 0 and 16.
Interstate 35 between Mile Markers 38 and 54.

Instructions

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
