Details

At 458 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms along a
line extending from 2 miles northeast of Tahlequah to 7 miles
southwest of Upper Buffalo Wilderness Area. Movement was south at 35
mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down small tree limbs and blow
around unsecured objects.

Interstate 49 between mile markers 22 and 65.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 600 AM CDT for
southeastern and east central Oklahoma. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch
also remains in effect until 1100 AM CDT for northwestern and west
central Arkansas…and northeastern and east central Oklahoma.
