The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Bandera County in south central Texas…
Northwestern Medina County in south central Texas…
Northeastern Uvalde County in south central Texas…

* Until 800 AM CDT.

* At 307 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain once again across the warned area. Between 2 and 5
inches of rain have already fallen over this region within the
past 6 to 9 hours. The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 to 3.5 inches
in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly once more.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Medina, Tarpley, Vanderpool, Hill Country State Natural Area,
Utopia, Lost Maples State Natural Area and Lakehills.

Instructions

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
