Details
At 1210 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from 3 miles southwest of
Junction City to near Wilsey. Movement was east at 15 mph.
HAZARD…Strong wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation is possible.
Locations impacted include…
Junction City, Council Grove, Grandview Plaza, White City, Dwight,
Wilsey, Parkerville, Latimer, and Council Grove Lake.
This includes Interstate 70 between mile markers 293 and 300.
Instructions
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
